Golding, Fuggles both or other...

Post by Reg » Tue May 02, 2006 3:27 pm

So yes, I went shopping for supplies for some test brews and I forgot hops...

I was gonna get some Goldings and/or some Fuggles... Any other suggestions or recommendations for a couple of test brew?

QUOTE (Daft as a Brush @ May 2 2006, 02:33 PM) Most all grain recipes are fairly straight forward but an easy one to follow is the one I posted previously.

4 or 5kg of Marris Otter or any Pale Malt
100 g of Golding added at the beginning of the boil
1 tsp of irish moss added 10 mins before the end.

This one benefits from at least a month in the keg/bottle.

Add 250g of crystal malt and maybe 5-10g of goldings at the end of the boil and allow to steep for 15 mins and you have another variation.
That's a 5 gallon recipe, yes?

My next brew (when I get this damn garden finished) is to be an all Challenger brew with Golden Promise a little munich and some crystal.
