Earthy hop suggestion?
Earthy hop suggestion?
I'm looking to do a fruity pale ale with Admiral and Amarillo. I want to mix that fruitiness with an earthy flavour, which I believe english hops are known for. I don't have any real experience with english hops. Can anyone suggest an earthy hop that might mix well with Amarillo?

I have always found Fuggles to be earthy but never paired them with Amarillo.

How about the oldest of American hops, Cluster? Has earthy, floral and fruity flavours.

I did a darker ale with loads of Fuggles which gave it what I would describe as a woody flavour. Very nice. That beer disappeared rapidly
