You're a bit late to plant hops, planting time is around April.

I'm not sure that's true. I've just phoned the Hop Shop as I wanted to see when their plants are available, varieties, cost etc. They say December is the best time for planting, when the plants are dormant. From my own experience I know hops start growing in April, so it'd be best to get the roots established before they start sending their shoots out.
