My Hop plants are beginning to make a move, but the Northdown is by far the biggest so far with the tallest shoot at 1 1/2 feet out of the other 3 plants, one is showing signs of a growth spurt the other two arent really doing much else at the moment. Bloody cold outside again

Anyone else having better luck?

Very impressive barneey. Are those in a greenhouse?

All mine are outside.
No growth in 3 year-old cascade shoots last month (unsurprisingly) but now I also have shoots on 2 year-old Challenger & First Gold too :)

Yep at the moment in the unheated greenhouse again, they were outside but got fed up with the snow and frosts & keep moving them to and fro so moved them back in again until the weather turns.

Im still trying to negotiate a more permanent position in the front garden which is South facing.

I`m really determined to brew at least a couple of batches of green hopped beer this year, so will plan the brewday around the plants

I'm hoping that I'll be able to do my 3rd annual green-hopped cascade brew in October.
Last 2 were lovely. =P~

My wild hop has had an inch or two of shoots showing since December, and started to take off a week or two ago, despite the cold. They are in a slightly sheltered spot, but I move them a few feet to a sunnier spot, once the weather starts warming up.

The same thing happened last year, but the yield was virtually nil, thanks to the wet and windy summer.

That is f@&king awesome!

I looked into building one then my Dad said what would my neighbour say. I live next door to my boss so I didn't build it.

Best not to fall out with him. Looks great though with hops growing up it.

Planting mine from pots today, at least that's the plan. Just checked them as they have been negletcted in the pots since harvest last year, and they all seem to be sprouting!
