Yes it is, I have 18 plants from 19 cuttings I took last year :)
Do you mean actually cutting off a shoot & dipping it in rooting powder to produce another plant?

I tried that and it didn't work, the cuttings rooted in water, though it took nearly 4 weeks for them to sprout roots. Here's a post from last year http://jimsbeerkit.co.uk/forum/viewtopi ... 80#p177980

I'm going to document taking the cuttings this year, all I need is the space for the new plants

So it isnt possible to grow from cuttings? Or is it just very tricky?

It's not tricky at all, I had 21 cuttings in water, 19 rooted, with 10 cuttings that I tried in compost using rooting hormone, all died.
All you do is make a cut right above a pair of leaves, and stick the stem into the water, place in a shady place and ensure that the water doesn't evaporate.

Cheers. My idea is to have hop, grape, hop, grape, hop, grape, hop, grape down the sunny side of my garden.

My 2nd year fuggles has also gone mad.

It was under a fleece cover for the winter so maybe that helped it get a good start.
Bramling X has just started to push a couple of shoots through the surface.

All my plants that I liberated from the field are doing well and climbing up the 7ft wire stock fence that I have around my chickens. Also I thought I would post the results of my seed growing. I picked a load of dried cones from the same bines and sorted out the seeds. I planted about 20 odd I guess at the same time as I dug the bine roots. Well it has taken an age but I have at least 6 coming up. They look a bit like baby stinging nettles, two thin long first leaves then a pair after like a stinger. I have the pot in my poytunel and fairly moist. I think the very cold winter may have helped the seeds. I must say I am pretty chuffed with the seeds, I will have in excess of 20 hop plants for nought! Subsonic.

As there's very little effort involved, it is most definitely worth it, that's 18 plants, all from cuttings.
I've planted another in place of one of my original plants that didn't sprout and I'm looking for somewhere to plant this lot, which will probably be in pots. In total I have 21 Prima Donna plants, even if i only end up with 100g of dried hops from each plant, I'll be happy.

My BX aren't growing yet. This is its second year. I thought it would going mad by now. There are multiple shoots on it but none of them are starting to 'green'.

Am I alone?

Ok,

Cheers for that grumpy, as you have a previous experience of this, is it about the right time to find a rhizome and liberate it from the side of the road?

Also anyone know if you can split rhizomes?
