Hop tincture added to correct bittering

Post by grunter » Thu Oct 19, 2017 5:41 pm

Hey lads,

Got a brew that overshot my starting gravity which is now nearing terminal gravity, also doesn't have enough bitterness ... part of a whirlpool only experiment ...

proposal is to work out appropriate dilution .. 2 Litres ... boil from cold with additional hops ... add at bottling

Anyone done this?

you could get hop oil for bittering

other than that i think it would be a bit of hit or miss sort of thing boiling hops in water or with some dme added and have boil it down and add it at bottling, i think if i was to boil hops for an hr, i'd cool and add to fv/bucket and leave a few more days and taste it,
but hop oil for bittering saves all the guess work..

cheers
