Hop Buying

Post by Hogarth » Tue Dec 11, 2007 1:19 am

Apologies for this clueless question, but I want to buy some hops -- standard varieties like Goldings, Fuggles, Styrian etc -- on the web, and the Hop & Grape shop has them vacuum packed in foil from the 2006 harvest. Are these going to be fresh enough, or should I be trying to get hops from this year's harvest?

The 2007 harvest is just starting to arrive apparently.

When properly stored hops can last quite a long time.
I bought a bunch of amarillo when they first came on the market. I used the last of that bunch over three years later and they were still good.
I'm just here for the beer.
