I was having a conversation last night with a friend from Cambridge, encouraging to get some TC on the go. He was keen but having just moved to Cambridge didn't know where to get brewing yeast, he does work in a kitchen though and can get baking yeast quite easily. I was wondering if anything drinkable could be made from it?
(Also if anyone knows of any HBS in Cambridge I'll pass on the details)
Baking Yeast
Although the beer was a bit cloudy as the yeast was a poor flocculator, they reckoned both the beer and the bread tasted fine.

If he's after yeast in Cambridge, take a trip out to Milton. The Milton brewery is a fantastic local brewery and the guy who runs it (Richard) is an absolute hoot. He'll let you have a scoop of his yeast. That's what my friend used to do when he was homebrewing in Cambridge - got the yeast cropped straight from the top of the primary!
If he's around Cambridge, I'd also recommend doing the Milton brewery tour. Was only £10 last time I went.
