Brupaks Pride of Yorkshire yeast

Post by Minus The Bear » Sun Nov 18, 2007 10:02 pm

Does anyone know what yeast the one in the Brupaks Pride of Yorkshire kits is?

I just wondered as i had a bit of a stuck fermentation with it and wondered if it was a known problem yeast.

nice one. It made me wonder what the cause may be as daveyk had a problem as well with his Brupaks kit.

I know some others on the forum have done these kits with success, however i think at least one member used dry beer enzyme when pitching his yeast.

Everything I've seen from Clive seems to suggest that they're trying their hardest to produce a quality kit with no drawbacks. There are many reasons why a beer won't ferment out and to single it out as the yeast is a little unfair imo. I'm not saying you're doing anything wrong, just that every now and then surely something will go wrong somewhere, be it on your part or the manufacturer's. That's why I want to go AG, at least I'll know it's my fault then.

thats a fair point, and i agree that sometimes things can go wrong. I just wanted to see if we could get to the bottom of it, but if Muntons won't reply to emails it makes you wonder what they have to hide.

I think the only way to be sure is to do another Brupaks kit, i fancy that Scammonden Dark :D

Just done that but used a sachet of s04 that I had. It fermented down to 1010 in 4 days, I think it was a bit warm. It tasted good out the fv though.
