Who smacked my pack?

I just got my latest mail order in and one of my Wyeasts seems to have been pre-smacked - i.e. it's already swollen.

Is keeping it for a while (a few weeks) in this state likely to be OK, or should I try and use it as fast as possible?

Apparantly that tends to happen when the packs are really fresh. As DaaB suggests make a starter with it. You can then keep that in teh fridge for a couple of weeks making a bigger starter with it a couple of days before brewday.

Oh well, looks like my Dunkelweizen is going on hold while I make an American Ale instead then...
