Youngs yeast

Post by Queeg 500 » Tue May 29, 2007 10:28 pm

about 2 months ago I bought some "Young's Super wine yeast compound" to make my own alcopops. I am now interested to know whether I can use this yeast to make a turbo cider.
It says on the pot "Speccially formulated for high alcohol, speedy fermation and clearing?

It might be a drier result than using a beer or cider yeast... I've just used a generic Young's beer yeast - looks like there isn't a lot of apple taste left, week or two left though...

Weird you say that... but..

I've got some TC fermenting away with 'youngs wine compound'. I'll report back, but I'll assume it'll be similar to using the champaine yeast producing a very dry cider.
