Over the last few brews I've used just two White Labs yeasts. Either 001 or 007.
The fermenter is a Brewtech chronical, allowing the yeast to be harvested from the dump valve at the bottom of the FV.
The 007 always yields about four times as much yeast as the 001.
Both are then stored in the bottom of the 'fridge, which is about 2C. The 007 can be repitched from the storage container straight into a new wort (once it's up to pitching temperature!!). With the 001 I feel happier growing it up in a starter before using it.
Has anyone else seen this huge variance between yeasts in the volumes which can be harvested?

Re: Varying yields when collecting yeast
WLP001 has medium flocculation whereas WLP007 is described by White Labs as highly flocculent. So the 007 is better at settling than the 001.
