I got a vial of Brett C a few weeks back. Used part of it in a single demi john of my coopers IPA, and started to build back up the rest.
step 1
I did an initial step in a 250ml flask. 150ml of starter, using 12g DME and the remainder of the tube.
Left that for a few days.
step 2
May 6 I split that step between the tube, and a larger starter. 1000ml starter with 80g DME. onto the stir plate at 240 rpm and 25C
May 8 - very cloudy. lots of activity. smells great.
step 3
may 16 - decanted off 600ml of the starter... and tasted and bottled it. shows promise! I actually primed and bottled this starter to see how it turns out carbonated...
400ml added to 1700ml plus 150g DME. should be approx OG 1030. Back on the stir plate at 240 rpm and 25C
each step had a small pinch of nutrient and smaller of citric acid.
May 18 - this is the starter tonight. Even with the stirring this has still formed a small krausen to centre and edges... lots of activity and loads of yeast being grown.

Now I just need a 100% Brett C recipe...!
