Checked this morning and its steady away. I'm expecting that thick creamy crust by tonight

Thought the yeast had started to pick up a little this morning, but I checked the gravity this evening and still 1038, think it is definitely dead.

John and Patsy from Hop and Grape are really good, they sent me a replacement yeast (WLP001), currently got this on a stirplate and planning an SNPA this weekend, customer service is excellent.

Gents,

Did anyone experience phenols/plastic off flavors from this strain? I pitched a 1037og bitter and then 1038og mild with the slurry. Both had slight phenols. Is it just me, or did anyone have similar experiences?

Thanks, Bill

I didnt notice any off flavours but would say that it wasnt a yeast that I'll rush out to buy again as it didnt add much to the mix for me.
