White Labs WLP022 "Essex Ale" is the Ridley's Ale strain, now defunct but still used by Crouch Vale and Wibblers. Have you tasted any of those beers, and if so, how would you say yours compares?
Not tried the to be honest Seymour, or if I have in the distant past, I don't recall trying them. I will be tracking down a bottle or two over the next few days though

Day Six

WLP 002. Thrown away, rubbery phenol and band aid. Combination of too much out of date package and strong wort.

WLP 007. Finished, Pleasant dry flavour not a lot of contribution from the yeast, mineral feel enhanced, enhances both malt and hops.

WLP 022. Finished. Pleasant dry finish, superb fruit esters from the yeast, Malt slightly enhanced, hops slightly overpowered by yeast esters.

WLP 041. 3/4 way there. Nice sweet finish, lovely fruit esters, malt significantly enhanced, hops slightly overpowered by yeast esters.

WLP 515. THE BREW. Finished, dry biscuit finish, malt aroma and flavour significantly enhanced, hops still coming through, little/no esters.

Four very different yeasts there and the two platinum strains are outstanding with characteristics that shine out like a beacon. Will bottle tomorrow and then test in a month or so when fully developed.

Worthwhile experiment I think, has caused quite a stir here. One malt bill four very different beers. :)
