BUMP

any progress on this. I tried McEwans Champion tonight and its got me wanting to brew something Scottish.

Ive read that they 'probably' use the McEwans strain but Caledonion 'may' have had their own strain.

Be interested to know what other Scottish breweries are using... like Greg said, hopefully not Notty.

Sorry to reincarnate an old thread. If I remember rightly the Orkney Brewery uses Ringwood yeast. I went on a brewery tour in August 2013. One thing I am sure of is that they top crop and repitch. The yeast was escaping out of the top of their fermenters.

Have you tried emailing them? I've heard they're good guys at Orkney. One of my favourite Scottish brewers too :) Is it only bottles you get Seymour.
