Recovered yeast starter culture!
Well things would appear ot be working. There's now plenty of activity in terms of fizzing and the "wort" has a nice, yeasty cloudiness. I think I'll let it have 48 hours to multiply as much as possible then put it in the fridge to keep things preserved for the next batch.
