Can I save some of this yeast? safale 04

I have a fixby gold that has just started to go with a good head, can I save some of this yeasty head (safale 04) in the fridge for my next brew? how much should I skip off and how should in be stored....thanks.

o, how long will it last in fridge please.

I agree. Come on... it's only a quid a packet. Why risk an infection?

if you're that desperate to re-use it, why not just refill your empty fermenter with carton apple juice - chuck some honey in for good measure. watch it go. ...

That's how I do my TC!

I know, but i want to statrt a brew and I have none around :?

Why not? It's no different than saving liquid yeast. Use about 100ml of yeast slurry into a 5 gallon batch if you're using it fresh.

I don't repitch liquid either. I split it onto slants straight from the pack.

:D Why not buy a 500g block of yeast it will keep for ages in the freezer or go halfs with another forum member

:? I have successfully kept my yeast in the freezer i just wrapped some cling film around the silver packet it came in .Reading back thru a earlier post someone stated Dave Line also talks of storing yeast in the freezer compartment of his fridge
