well to be accurate try Mr Malty but 100ml of the slurry should suffice . . . . And start it a couple of hours before the main brew!

Correct,
FWIW, I always make up a quick (smallish) starter just to wake them up and get them going, along the lines of Daabs flying starter, 500ml of wort with a couple of spoonfuls of L/DME, boiled and allowed to cool is all you need, add it to the slurry a couple of hours before brewing and shake on a regular basis.
