They could well be different strains, but it's difficult to say without knowing the makes - what make/type of kit did they come with.

Why not just pop to your nearest HB shop and get a pack of good yeast? It might be better than an unnamed yeast that came with a kit.

(By the way, it's best to turn your caps lock off - on a forum it's seen as shouting  )

The cider is John Bull country cider and the lager is Coopers Mexcian Cerveza . Sorry about the caps lock i did'nt realise that. Can i put some more yeast in then even if it's been going for 5 days?

After 5 days, if its going to go wrong, it will have.... best bet is to taste them and see what you think, chances are it will be ok.
Bottling vs barrel is mainly personal choice..... if you plan on drinking it fairly soon, bottling is a lot of effort.

Robin Hood the Coopers Mexican Cerveza is it the yeast supplied with the kit ? if so its an ale yeast and not a lager yeast. Also a forum member the name I cant remember Im sure they made one of the Coopers lager kits with a cider yeast and it came out fine.
