Would this make a reasonable alcho-pop?

As its quite hard to judge how much cordial to mix in with 15L of water, would this idea equate to a reasonably palatable effort? Brew 15L of water with just sugars and yeast, ferment out as usual. Prime bottles with tea-spoon of sugar and the usual amount of fruit cordial you'd use when making a soft drink (ie about half-inch in the bottom of the bottle). I'm hoping that the cordial would mix well when bottling and the saccharin sweetener is non-fermentable and would give some sweetness. I'd also boil the cordial before putting in bottles to make sure its sterilised. I'd used something like Vimto cordial which isn't as 'cloying' as Ribena.

My gut feeling is that for an alcopop you would want to mix the cordial stronger than you would for a soft drink.

Thanks for the input, maybe double the amount of cordial I guess - just in an attempt to combat the taste of alcohol.

What yeast would be best yeast for this type of brew? I used safale 04 for my batch of ginger beer, it fermented out 3kgs of sugar in 16L of water from 1062 right down to 1006 in 10 days (with 2 x tspoons of yeast vit on the 5th day)

Go for it with that turbo Ribena, Curious! 8)

i just received my youngs alcoshot kit and its got a 5L bucket (and 5L secondary) 2kg brewing sugar (1 for fermenting and 1 for flavoring) and what looks like some VERY concentrated blueberry flavoring syrup, it has about 4 lots of finings and turbo yeast with nutrient mixed, a siphon too with its own clip, i can see me making more of these its £20 for the kit and refills are £10, im possibly toying with the idea of getting 1L of the 15% shot mix (flavored) and diluting it by half to make a better alcopop drink (with lemonade).

i tried a big "wash" mix ages ago, it tastes crap (havent tasted it in 6 months) but its ALL in the flavoring, mix sugar and flavoring mix, or just loads of flavoring, something like vimto is a thick concentrate so an inch on the bottom of a 1L bottle should be nice? (must try that one too i think )
