Another TC Question...

So now that my London Porter is bottled up and conditioning nicely I may have a go at the old TC thing. I'll probably be doing it in one of those big 5l mineral water things but I have one question. Do I need to sterilise the thing before I use it or can I just tip out the water and throw in the apple juice. Surely Mr Tesco must sterilise these things before he puts his water into them?

TC does seem to be quite resilient to infection, I'd definitely chance it.

It'll only be a couple of quid down the drain if it doesn't work, not like a 40 pint run.
