Gurgeh's Best Essex Cider

Post by Stonechat » Fri Oct 24, 2008 6:02 pm

Gurgeh did the hard work, then delivered over 5gallons of fermenting must.
I then racked it again and bottled it Image

Thanks Gurgeh =D>

He short changed you Stonechat, you only managed to get 37 bottles filled
Looks nice though. How long you going to leave them before drinking?

I wish someone would come round and do my bloody apples for me! I haven't had time this year, so I've just binned a few hundred kilos of apples....

Maybe next year I'll actually by a press. It's one of those things I keep thinking I should do as even though they're bloody expensive, it would pay back over the long term.

There's 51 bottles on the table OB. On Gurgeh's advice I primed all except a dozen with a quarter tsp of sugar to give a bit of fizz. Left the dozen unprimed to try as still cider.

They are all stashed away in the garage. Hope to leave them in peace until the New Year. :D Might be hard though as the aroma when bottling was very nice

:D

Looking good! The bottles I did a couple of weeks ago have dropped star bright now, so looking good for some new year drinking!

Best thing for those old SN bottles!

adm - since you're in Surrey you could probably borrow my little press if you want, but I haven't got a crusher, and could do with one.
