Ive just made up 10 bottles of TC. I have to say I was pretty chuffed with the results, I was expecting something really cheap an nasty. What I ended up with was a nice fruity fizzy drink with a 5% alcohol content an no shitty chemicals.
So with one success under my belt Im going to continue. 10 bottles for £3.80, yes I can live with prices like that.
However Ive been selfish with my brewing and done it solely for my own greed, now the missus wants something producing. I want to make something like rasberry beer/Strawberry beer. Id like to do it without goin AG.
Do you think a TC would be close.... without the apple juice? If not what could I knock together to get passable results?
Raspberry booze
Re: Raspberry booze
TC wont be anything like a fruit beer - a beer's a beer... TC from raspberry juice or whatever would be a raspberry wine, and probably a pretty rough one at that. If you want to do a fruit beer, I'm sure there are some extract recipes around. Essentially just brew a lightly bittered extract beer, then add some fresh/dried/pureed fruit after the initial fermentation has taken place.
Re: Raspberry booze
mm true enough I guess. Ill just have to make her drink cider then ^^
Re: Raspberry booze
I made a morello beer once by adding morrello cherries to Bass.
Something like"
Get a nice base beer or a cheap lager
One nice Demijohn which I am sure you have dump some frozen/tinned fruit in and pour some beer on top slowly
Leave to soak together for a week
Strain and bottle"
I have the proper receipe at home if you are interested ?
Its in an old brewing book I have, tried this before I went all grain
You will need a light flavour beer to take up strawberry flavour (or loads of strawberries!)

hehe put my hand in my pocket? sod that. I dont wanna disturb the lint.
Yeah I would be interested in that recipe Awalker
There are actually 2 reasons for making a fruit based beer. Firstly money saving and secondly If i make something decent I can get the Missus interested in the whole home brewing thing. A simple case of making the enemy your friend as shes still not overly chuffed that im making cheap beer. She thinks it just encourages me to drink more. I on the other hand think it encourages me to spend less
