If its a sealed carton it'll already be sterilized so you'll be fine.

Re: youngs brewbuddy cider
Unless I'm missing something here the apple juice will begin to ferment and you could end up with exploding bottles.
Re: youngs brewbuddy cider
litre PET bottles and secondary fermentation(apple juice instead of sugar) ?
Re: youngs brewbuddy cider
sorry parva-thanks for suggestion and hi! i`m new to all this communication.
Re: youngs brewbuddy cider
I'm not too sure about the Copella, isn't it sold from the chiller ?
If so it may not be pasteurised like the cheap carton apple juice.
Does it have a very long best before date on it? Which would indicate to me that it has been heat treated.
Using apple juice to prime is a good idea but it may be worth investing £1.20 in 2L of basic apple juice from the supermarket to be on the safe side

Ah fair enough. Not sure of the quantities required to get it right though.shazza wrote:litre PET bottles and secondary fermentation(apple juice instead of sugar) ?

Re: youngs brewbuddy cider
thanks for all suggestions.snow, sickness, other duties etc. prevented bottling so far.will add 2L copella(fridge fresh and therefore probably not heat treated)+2L long life apple juice from concentrate.it`s my son`s 18th on saturday and he`s "having a few friends over" so the brew will probably not have a chance to go bad or even condition properly.slainte!
