i have been looking at the cider/turbo cider/supermarket juice brews on this forum for a while.
I have read about people using bread yeast,cider yeast,wine yeast,ale yeast,lager yeast,champagne yeast.
which is the best one to use?

Heathens use Bread yeast.
Although apparently cider yeast gives the best results, although you can use any style of yeast you wish.

People don't realise how much yeast gives a certain flavour to the beer. I wonder what a Wyeast would be like in a TC

Real cider is made without yeast - natural yeasts will make it start itself.

For TC I use champagne yeasr - its very active so kills off nasties.

PAHHH. as long as it aint breadyeast it wont make a difference. after you third HALF pint you wont care anymore. you will just talk endlessly about either; the state of the world, or the youth of today.
fantastic

I've only used champagne yeast and cider yeast. To my taste the cider yeast is better, the champagne yeast results in a dryer cider. Best bet is to try a few batches with different yeast and extra ingredients, sugar, honey etc. Then when you find one you like you can reproduce it.

Never stop experimenting though :D

The last TC i made (20L) i used bread yeast & that came out sweeter than the 20L TC with Windsor.
I used Richie wine yeast in a TC, came out fairly dry.
But the driest yet was with Champagne yeast. Was drier than a nuns crotch. By far the best.
Used S-23 lager yeast & that gave a nice fizzy tang on the tongue. Nice & different.

So i'm going with the Champagne yeast from now on. Must buy a few sachets soon so i can get this summers TC on the go. I think 2 x 25L brews will suffice.

eeeerm... I would be the afore said HEATHEN. I got a 8 packet of bread yeast for a quid and proceeded to make TC using that. The results... Wonderful a great success. Would I waste time getting proper yeast?.... IMHO if it aint broke dont fix it. A gallon of nice cider (with no added chemicals) for 3.50 that doesnt make me look like a wino for drinking it out of a big blue bottle with lightning on it, wonderful

Cider yeast for me as well.
Champagne yeast seemed to give the TC a "salty" taste :?
Cider yeast = much better =D>
