Cloudy TC

Post by Dr Excess » Wed Feb 25, 2009 2:35 pm

I've just started a TC with Lidly cloudy apple juice. Can I expect it to clear - or clear it with finings? (The other half has already let me know she won't mind drinking it cloudy!)

Thanks

I've got a brew of this maturing at the moment (2 parts cloudy to 3 parts normal). I think you can expect some of the particulates that make it cloudy to drop out, but I shouldn't expect to go clear - mine certainly wasn't when I bottled it. Adding pectinase will destroy the pectin and clear it slightly too.

Ta very much. It's only my second brew so as long as it goes down and stays down I'll be more than chuffed... :D

I've got a Cooper's Stout on its way: after all I've read on here, I'm expecting a ruddy miracle with it!
