Have just bottled my 22L batch of this.

My SG was close to 1.060, so I think I might have something a bit stronger than you guys!

I used 2kg of Sugar, 5 Bottles of Syrup and 22 L of water.

Will see how they come out. I've just tried some, and it seems more like a wine than anything else.

I'll be doing another batch in the weeks to come, but I think next time I'll use a little less sugar and a little less yeast.

Yep as above,
After much trawling the supermarkets and giving up hope,a flyer came through the door today saying Lidl are selling it ftom thurs 2/6 , so i took a chance tonight and it was on the shelves at £1.39,happy days.
Returning home to set up,went in the loft to dig out my old wine making equip, then remembered i,d given most of it away apart from vessels/demijohns,arrgh!!. Another order required.
On reading the label though, states 65% multi fruit juice,0.3% raspberry juice ,modern advertising ehh? one or two other bits and pieces, dont know if they are as strict as G.B. regulations regarding contents but would help us brewers regarding fermenting/clearing.
However, tastes good ,so much in fact i tried some in my beer[citra],nice change over ice .
Reminds me of monkeys blood you got on ice creams, now where do they get that from????.
If you tie a piece of buttered toast to a cats back and drop it from a building, it hovers just above the ground rotaing slowly.

Just bottled this. Tasting a bit like fruit wine if I'm honest. Not as 'raspberry-ey' as I was expecting. Maybe next time I could use 2 bottles for a 5 gallon batch. Still early days though. Who knows how it will taste when it's freezing cold and fizzy!

Bottled in 500ml beer bottles with 1 tsp sugar per bottle.

Should be ready to drink in 2 weeks time!

****EDIT - MEANT 2 BOTTLES PER 1 GALLON****

I thought the same thing. I might see if I can get some raspberry flavour or something to add when bottling. I used 5 bottles in a 5 gallon batch - don't know if you meant 2 per 1 gallon? Have bottled into pint bottles with sugar like you, and will be leaving it 3 weeks until I drink it.

Whoops! That's what I meant. Put an edit thingy on my original post. Cheers.

Might taste different in a few weeks time. Presently though, it tastes too much like a wine styled homebrew.

Thanks for the heads up lads.Got a few bottles today from lidl;euro 1.69.Tesco had it a few weeks ago at approx. the same price but since this craze for cheap liquor began it has been out of stock.btw my original gallon(one bottle Malina Raspberry,500g white sugar!,sachet Youngs cider yeast) started at1060 and never went into a vigourous ferment but has been steadily bubbling away and is now at 1002 after about 6 weeks;turbo my ass,but it still smells of raz and should pack quite a punch.Might be handy for cranky kids at summer barbies.

Yeah the stuff in the "world foods" isle could do with a little more details regarding contents...
Look what I found on the shelf above the rasberry syrup in asda, someone must be having a laugh!

just a quick question, ive got 10L of the strawberry in DJ's at the moment, almost ready to bottle and prime, im new to all this and was wondering if its going to need sweetening? i do have quite a sweet tooth, and if i do, how much and of what sweetener and when should i add it?

I have a sweet tooth too :)
but found that this doesnt go stupidly dry like a turbo cider or a ginger beer would.
I have never sweetened it and didnt really ever give it any thought untill now.

I dont think you will be disapointed with the outcome of just leaving it simple,
but am looking forward to hearing what other people have to say about it!

And remember you always have the option of spilting ur batch and sweetening half and leaving the other!

Hi Floyd

I've used this a couple of times in secondary and both times its taken a month or so to ferment out after addition.
These had 1-1.4 bottles of syrup per gallon.
It's probably quicker when added earlier but I was worried before that primary fermentation would blow away flavour & aroma.

Having said that, I'm thinking of trying an AG brew using this with syrup added at end of boil just to see what it would be like.
>>
Notes: Pale Ale / Raspberry ale mix.
Raspberry added at primary this time as experiment as takes ages when added in secondary.
If had them would use all Mittlefruh, but used hops to hand for bittering and blackcurrant aroma
