I looked at the recipe and compared it to a typical beer. A beer brew 5 times the volume in the recipe would have on average 1.5 to 2 kg of malt and about 500g of sugar (a typical kit brew) Thats probably a good guide. For your 5 litre length, even 750g of spray malt will give around 6% ABV. As pdtnc says, its not a huge amount of ingredient, so chuck it in and report back in 4 weeks!
