It drops to £1.00 every so often. I doubt the next offer will be too far away.

Couple of quick questions

looking to bottle in 284ml Stella bottles how much sugar per bottle ?
Also at what SG is the best time to bottle as mines down to 1.00 but still giving occasional bubble thro the airlock?

cheers all

Can't answer the sugar for definite but I'd suggest 1/4 a level teaspoon per bottle.

If won't go much, if any, below 1.000. Bottle it up now, or try it in a pressure barrel.

ok so i have attempted my 1st ever brew today, finding that many different recipes i just thought i would go for it, i have attempted the raspberry cider, i have used a 5l DJ, i poured the full bottle of the polish raspberry syrup in then added 3.5l of AJ and a mug of tea using 3 tea bags, i then added 400g sugar, 1ts of yeast and yeast nutrient, i then placed the rubber bung in and gave it a good old shake, i then added the airlock thing, i did not have a hydrometer so i could not take a reading, anyway when can i expect to see some action, i did this about 5 hours ago and nothing, just looks like juice, have i done anything wrong, was just a sort of trial and error thing really, thanks

You'll probably have something closer to wine strengh than cider, it'll probably take off in the next 24 hours, if you filled this up to the top of the Demijohn then split it into two fairly soonish otherwise you are likely to get the stuff spewing out of the top fairly soon.

Just the amount of sugar you added taken with the sugar from the syrup and the apple juice will leave you with a pretty high SG.

ah thats fine, if it does taste a little strong then i will add a little AJ or lemonade when serving it, i think it has started, my airlock started to bubble, slowly but was doing something, hope it speeds up, also the water in my airlock seems to have traveled mostly to one side of it, i would not imagine this is a big problem as like i say i saw it bubble, oh well 1st time was really more of a trial and error thing, see how it goes.

A week into my brew (5 gallon, 7 bottles of syrup, 2kg sugar and Gervin GV10 wine yeast) and I'm getting a steady fermentation. Everything seems to be going well. I haven't done a gravity reading as I thought I'd just let it ferment out.

I've brewed the original raspberry recipe a couple of times but have never seen any different flavoured syrups in the supermarket. I had a look in the local Polish shop yesterday and am now the proud owner of cherry syrup, strawberry syrup and kiwi fruit syrup. I'm looking forward to getting these fermenting and seeing how they turn out :)

so my 1st ever raspberry TC is fermenting nicely, been bubbling away nicely for about 4 days now, i have just topped up a little with the extra AJ i had left, i took a smell and wow, nearly knocked me back smells like such a strong country style cider, i cant wait for this, unfortunately the 3 polish shops near me dont stock this syrup but asda does but only raspberry, going to try original recipe next take away the AJ and make with water see how that compares, also i have read loads of different things, im not going to prime bottles i want to add fizz as and when wanted, i have a soda stream is this ok to use.
