Wilko Forest Fruits Cider

Post by Shaun21 » Wed Apr 10, 2013 11:09 am

Hey guys, been a while since I've posted anything on here.

I'm thinking about brewing the Wilko Forest Fruits Cider but it's had mixed reviews online so thought I'd ask on here and see if anyone else has tried it and if they have any recommendations for it. It sounds like it could be a nice drink to have in the sun when it finally appears.

Thanks.

Hello Shaun,
You might get more replies in the "Other Brews" Post further down the Index Board. I haven`t made this myself so hopefully someone else will help you!

As Craigie said... Ignore the reviews on the Wilko's site... It is a fantastic brew!

Thanks for the reply guys. It's been in the bucket for 5 days now and the smell is fantastic already. It's still bubbling away so I'll leave it alone for a few more days and check again. How long did you guys bottle it for? Is it good to go after a couple of weeks or was there a marked improvement by leaving it for a couple of months?

Just put one of these on tonight, should come good for the summer.....hope we have a summer this year [-o< If the smell in the kitchen is anything to go by, this brew is going to be a winner.

Oh and a bit of a bonus, Wilkos selling them at £12 quid at the mo :D

Planning one of these as my next brew.

How is the finished taste? Sweet or dry?

Anyone dry hopped one of these? Or should I just brew it as per the instructions?

Just put one of the pear cider kits on tonight. I am hoping the smell improves with fermenting and conditioning. It smells like cheap pear drops to me at the moment!
