Currently I am brewing my first batch of Apple Turbo. All going according to plan and will be batched up in due course.
However, I have recently enjoyed some Pear Cider. Does anybody know where you can get some pear juice from to make Pear Turbo? I thought that I might give this a go at the weekend.
Has anybody else had a go at this, if so what was the result?
Pear Cider
I've tried making perry from 50Kg of pears i was given. never had any problem doing cider from apples, but the pear juice oxidises really quickly and the whole lot went off. poured it away. yukhh
Tried some perry at chelmsford beer fest. hats off to the folk that make it successfully - i'll not bother again!

I did a perry attempt after seeing Tubby trying one, it's still in it's demijohn, the top half is crystal clear pear juice and the bottom half looks like something you would find in the gutter on a friday night in town, not really sure how to proceed.....
did you chuck yours Tubby? or did you filter it? and if you did chuck it, did you taste it before it went the journey?

Very clear, nice tasting perry sat on top of what looks like cotton wool

Another demijohn is being sanitised and after a few hours kip I will filter it today.
I managed to get hold of enough pears last year to make a gallon of perry in the old fashioned way. It was well worth the effort and it hasn't lasted very long
Last year we also managed to get hold of some of the 5 gallon plastic containers that posh people have in their water dispensers. They come with tighly fitting tops which we drilled and fitted with airlocks using a bit of silicone sealer to ensure an air tight fit.
