Oh heck, another Turbo brew...
Oh heck, another Turbo brew...
Well I acquired another Demijohn to day from my parents, and decided I just HAD to use it for something.........
So into the newley acquired demijohn went:
4Ltrs of Sainsbury OJ
150g Brewing sugar
Youngs wine yeast
The Cider turned out great, and I only have 1 bottle left, so I thought I'd try OJ this time. The OG is 1.060 so I could be looking at 8% if it acts that same way the AJ did.

Makes a pretty cool lava lamp, much better that the AJ.
Kitchen sounds strange, and smells strange at the moment. On one side I have Turbo OJ, and the other side I have Admirals Reserve both competing for the biggest glooping noises.
Oh and the missus mentioned the yeasty farty smell and looked at ME !!!

Ok this tastes like crap. Not what I had in mind at all. I will give it a bit longer and see what happens, but so far its rubbish.
To drink on its own it has a strange taste (could be the yeast) thats a bit.....well earthy. If you mix it with lemonade it tastes ok, as the lemonade sweetens it up a bit.
I think it would make an excellent base to a fruit punch, but with the alcohol in this that punch would be called Mike Tyson.
Like I said I will give it some more time, but OJ isnt going to be turned into anything again by me......now the Cranberry that DaaB shows in another thread, that could be interesting...is there a recipe anywhere?
