What yeast for TC !?
As the title suggests ! What yeast would people recommend !? Has anyone ever used bread yeast !?!

Add hefe weizen yeasts to the list also, gives you a lovely fruity almost tropical ciderDaaB wrote:I think this needs to be in the FAQs![]()
Safale04 is quick, clears quickly, forms a stable sediment, it seems to have a fair bit of good feed back but Wez doesn't like it.
Bread Yeast (alinsons) was the original yeast for this recipe, it does the job but the sediment isn't very stable.
Champagne (or high alcohol wine yeast) is very dry but seems to be another popular choice.
White Labs do a Cider yeast, the people who have used it report it is excellent and that it makes a superior cider.

I definately preferred Youngs Cider Yeast flavour-wise although it doesn't stick to the bottle bottom as well as S04 - i'll use it again though in preference to s04DaaB wrote:I think this needs to be in the FAQs![]()
