compounders licence

Post by paradice » Sat Aug 11, 2018 4:08 pm

Hey all
Not sure what sub to post this is in so i will try here,
I am in the process of applying for a compound licence, why?.. to age spirits in whisky barrells.
Has anyone here delt with such a thing?
I am aware hmrc like to visit you once you file for excice, up to a year i am told.. however im almost sure the garage i have at the moment isn't up to spec.
What cosistutes a safe and clean space to do such a thing. Bear in mind i am not distilling, just taking something and changing the flavour (compounding).
Thanks in advance for any help with this.

Are you doing this commercially or for yourself?

Have you read HRMC Excise Notice 39?
It tells you most,if not all,you need to know re. Rectifying/Compounding Licenses.
