Post by ni9e » Sun Mar 16, 2008 3:51 pm

I am in the Newark neck of the woods for Easter wknd and was wondering if there are any homebrew shops in the area so I can stock up on supplies while I'm away.

Thanks

I don't know about the Newark area but if you're going via the M56 there's The Brew Shop in Stockport, it's only five minutes from the motorway. I popped in the last time I was travelling over to the East mids.

I have been to that shop trouble is I'll be passing there about 4 am

I notice you are from wirral area which shops if any do you use?

The only ones I know of are the tranmere homebrew shop which is a ripoff and the small shop in oxton rd.

If all I'm after is a tap or some crown caps etc. I use the shop in Tranmere but for AG bits & pieces I use Hop & Grape.

There's not much in the way of HBS round here.

If you're near Newark-on-Trent, there's Lombard Wines (Newbrew) on Lombard Street. Its a while since I've been in, not the best stocked shop in the world, but friendly enough. They also run the Linbrew shop on High Street in Lincoln.

A bit further afield, There's 'The Home Brewer's Centre' on Ratcliffe Gate, Mansfield.

That's a shame... I'm pretty sure their shop at Lincoln is still open, its a better shop too - a nice chap called Tony runs it, he's very helpful.

a tad further away but the Homebrew Centre in Grismby is going strong. You can order online with them too.
