Cooling procedure

Post by Buzz » Mon Dec 03, 2007 5:40 pm

I use an IC in the boiler and currently leave the wort to settle for about 30mins after boiling, to let the trub and hop debris to settle before I start to chill.

Not sure why I do it this way around - would there be any problem getting the chiller straight on after the boil and, once chilled, leaving things to settle for 30 mins before running it off into the FV?

I'd be interested to hear how other people go about things once the boil is finished.

I do it the second way... I move the wort around to make the cooling more efficient so it would just mix everything up again
