For relatively inaccurate weighing (> 500g) then a Digital Fish scales are pretty good to use, I got a set weighing up to 30Kg for under 20 quid at my local fish shop. I've also used the digital bathroom scales in the past.
I have a set of Digital kitchen scales for up to 1kg, which again are pretty accurate compared to my calibration weights, they are EKS model and came from Argos
For hops and mineral additions I have a set of Scales Similar to these which are ideal for really accurate weighing. Try a Search on Scales in fleaBay and you'll get all sorts comming up.

I'm sure most people that buy those scales don't use them for hops....other 'herbs' maybe.Aleman wrote: For hops and mineral additions I have a set of Scales Similar to these which are ideal for really accurate weighing. Try a Search on Scales in fleaBay and you'll get all sorts comming up.

So what do you use to calibrate your 1L container? A set of scales and see if it comes out as 1Kg?DaaB wrote:Calibrate them by placing 1L (1kg) of water on them, note the reading and work out the correction required.

For those looking for accuracy you should be able to pick up a calibration weights for abut £4.
