In your list of grains in beersmith you would probably also have a 60L or thereabouts, which when selected would give you about 120EBC.

Although you can select to display colour using EBC or L in the options the names given to the grains are still 'Crystal (120L)' for example, as they are often referred to as 120L Crystal rather than light medium or dark, at least in the US I believe...

So the software has the right colour, and you have the right colour, you just selected the wrong grain from the list...

Also, if you look in the list you might find Crystal light, or medium, which would already have that sort of range...
You can also download malt specs for Thomas Fawcett and other malters, although not Bairds as yet...
If any British beersmith users have a Bairds malt specs file please do let me know :)
