Does anyone else use Sutton / East Surrey water?

If so, what water treatment do you use (if any)?

Many thanks!

Yes. The Cheers website has some suggestions but I don't bother treating it at all.

I used to live in Sutton in the mid nineties and owned a fish house. I wouldn't bathe in the water there let alone drink it or cook with it. Even boiled it was still shite. Thames deal with sutton and in my opinion they are a bunch of complete tossers.
But thats just my opinion from a fish keepers point of view. 8)

I live nearby in Epsom, but the water is from Sutton and East Surrey Water. I haven't got into treating the water yet, the most I have done is boil it before mashing and I've had good results!

You can check the water quality on Sutton and East Surrey Water's website here.

Unfortunately I don't understand water quality specs, so I'm not sure what styles of beer the water is suited to and if water treatment is advisable....if someone more experienced wants to help this is a link to a pdf of my water 'zone'.

I'm not sure how the water compares with other areas but I like the taste of the water out the tap.......well I can't taste any chemicals, which is a good thing :)

I haven't had any problems with my water so don't see the point of treating it. The end result tastes good and although I could perhaps improve the mash by doing so it all seems a little too much bother
