No irish moss added to boil

Post by rmuiritfc » Wed May 21, 2008 7:51 am

I forgot to add this to the boil for my clone of fiddlers elbow and wondered how this would affect my beer. As its quite pale will this affect the clarity of the beer? Would it be best to use some finings as i dont normally. I intend to barrel it this weekend having racked this over last night and then leave it to mature for three weeks. Any advice for me?

Thanks
Richard

Just leave it a little longer in the fermenter. If you can chill it down when fermentation is complete, that might speed things up. But don't worry about it - it'll clear up eventually.

I have done this before. I was drinking relatively heavily during the brewing session and forgot to add it. The beer never cleared, or I didn't wait long enough for it to. I think you will have a very hazy beer after fermentation.
