Storage of hops and malted grains

Hi,

I plan to order a few kilos of pale malt, crystal malt and chocolate malt so i can practise my AG when i go back to university. I'll also buy a few varieties of hops. How long can i expect them to last before they deteriorate? Any tips on storage? :?
