FV residue

Post by blackadder » Mon Jul 28, 2008 10:10 pm

This maybe a dullard question. I have just completed first AG fermentation and well impressed with the outcome. The FV is 25litres with a tap, but this wastes 20% in the bottom. The last 5litres is heavily yeasty, can I pour this to the pressure vessel or is it wasted??

I have just started a second brew and my fermentation volume is just 17.5 litres...hate to lose 5 of that. Thoughts clever brew boffins??

providing the yeast on the bottom is firm tilt the FV. until you have drained all the clear beer. Leave the solid yeast behind.Just need to be careful
