Whirlifloc Irish Moss etc How essential
Peeps
I have everything I need except a whirlifloc or Irish moss to do my First AG today.
Im desperate to have a go but I dont want to waste my first AG for the sake of one of these coagulator type thingies.
Should I crack on or be patient and whats wil happen if I brew without them

Go ahead & do your brew. While Irish Moss or Whirlfloc can help your wort be more clear by causing proteins to stick together & fall out of suspension, it is not 100% essential. The worst thing that can happen without it is that you may end up with a slight haze which will not affect the flavour of your brew.
Provided that you get a good, rolling boil going to achieve the hot break & cool rapidly after the boil is finished, you will get a good cold break. This will hepl get rid of most of the proteins which can cause hazes.
