Achieving charcoal-like bitterness in Pales

Excluding a 60 minute bittering addition and acheiving correct bitterness from late additions only gives a nice more rounded bitterness, and also helps with great hop flavour if thats what you're looking for.
Whilst a 90 minute bitterness addition gives a harsher bitterness than a 60.
This is not what you're asking but may be worth something.

Thanks for your input HM, food for thought.

I had assumed this brewery would use a hopback or 5,0 minute or flame out addition for aroma, so surprised to hear it is back at 10 mins.
