Time lapse from mashing to boiling

Is it OK to sparge into the boiler then leave it a couple of hours before boiling? I'm having to go out tonight for 2-3 hours and will mash this afternoon and maybe do the boil later tonight.

Leave it covered - you'll boil the hell out of it later, so it should become sterile.

you could leave iot in the mash tun some people mash over night.

Thanks for the replies. I've had trouble opening the message to see the replies all afternoon! Typical, I could open every other message in this section apart from this one....

Well I've been out and come back! I covered it up and its now about to be subjected to a 90 minute boil :twisted:
