My Next is friday first since April.
As long as I can get my grains today or tomorrow it will be an early Saturday start. Hope to mash at 6:30am!

Still takes me 5 1/2 to 6 hours from mash-in to airlock in, even if I get it all perfect. Mash + boil + cool is 3 1/2 hours in itself without runnings, draining, transfers etc...

That lunchtime pint on Saturday will taste good though...

0630 mash will certainly be an early start! My boiler takes about 40mins ot bring the liquor (46l) up to temp.

You might want to weigh out your grains the night before, fill the boiler with water, chuck in your camdem tablet etc....

If you have a timeswitch, the smart money would use that so that when you get up, the water's all nicely up to temp and you are ready to mash!

Thats exactly what i was gonna do ;)

Although whats the point of camdem tablets? I was going to miss them out as i understand its doesnt have any effect on the water.

Don't risk off-tastes for the sake of half a Campden tablet! It's a bit of insurance and for what they cost and the effort involved it's a step I consider to be crucial to get the ultimate finished product!

Its effect is to remove the chlorine content in the water.
