Hi everyone,
Got all my stuff set up now and ingredients, going to start brewing tomorrow evening after work.
As I havent yet got a chiller, i'm leaving the wort overnight to cool naturally, but wanted to know if.....
As i'm boiling in a large stock pot without a tap, what is the best way to get the wort off the trub, hops etc,
shall I seal with cling film and allow to cool in pan and then siphon, or sieve off into fermenter
Pour whilst still hot directly into fermenter through a sieve and seal
or any other ideas
First AG tomorrow - got a few questions
Re: First AG tomorrow - got a few questions
Do a whirlpool, a fairly common commercial technique - stir the wort and the centrefuge will draw the hops and trub into a cone in the middle, allowing you to siphon from the edge. Try googling 'whirlpool' & 'homebrew' for further info.
