Going for a Vanilla cream ale. What do you all think of the recipe esp. mash and boil times.
For 2.5 gallons BTW
Sorry for the mix of imperial and metric.
90 minute mash. 60 minute boil
1.5kg Munich malt
1kg Pale Malt
1/2oz Willamette (60 Min)
1oz Saaz (15 Min)
Vanilla extract to taste at bottling.

Never had a cream ale of any description, to my knowledge, but it looks like a nice recipe. Will you be using any specific type of yeast?

The recipe used Safale 04, so as the local home brew shops round here don't stock much liquid yeast, that's what i'll be using. Looking forward to the brew day. Hope it doesn't rain.

I use Safale for almost all my beers.
I'd be really interested in how your brew turns out. Like I said, I've never tried a Cream Ale but I do like trying different styles from time to time.

All set for the morrow. Kit cleaned, grain weighed and resealed in plastic bags, got one of those JML placcy bag resealers, worth every penny. Do the hops tomorrow.
if I filled the boilers tonight would the chlorine evaporate off by tomorrow or should I just add 1/2 a campden tab in the morning as I begin heating?
Hope the weather is set fair for tomorrow.

Ok picture will be taken.
Just made up my yeast starter. Also just checked the weather, looks as if I'll be standing over the boiler with a brolly
