Bit of a Newb question and I'm not sure it should be in this forum. But as we don't have a general Brewing forum i'll put it here.

For bottle conditioned beer, should FG be taken when the beer comes out of the fermentor, or after its been bottle conditioned?

It's taken when fermentation has finished. Comparing the starting gravity to the final gravity will then give you your percentage of alcohol.

Usually it's taken after primary fermentation has finished (i.e. in the fermentation bucket).

Adding priming sugar to bottles will increase the alcohol content slightly (HMRC have a method of working it out for duty purposes) but to be honest it's not really worth worrying about, it's fairly insignificant for us homebrewers.
